Former HR Executive of Xerox, Merck and Co., and Bausch and Lomb has joined to help guide corporate HR and quality of hire recruiting products and services.
Vancouver, B.C., - April 27, 2004 - HireDesk, an application software provider for the recruiting industry, today announced that Deborah Smith, senior human resource leader, has been appointed to its board of advisors. In addition to Smith, HireDesk's board members include: chairman Gary Brent, former chairman & CEO, RBC Global Private Banking; Jade Bourelle, CEO, HireDesk; John Armitage, president, Armitage & Associates; and recently announced Clarence McFeely, 40 year executive search veteran and past president of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC).
Smith joins HireDesk's board and will also serve on the company's quality of hire committee, responsible for guiding the development of quality of hire products and services.

She began her career at Xerox Corporation and held a number of positions, including vice president, HR for the United States and vice president, HR global manufacturing and engineering. She then served as the senior vice president HR and a member of the management executive committee for both Bausch & Lomb and Merck and Co. Her most recent position was the executive vice president, HR for Coty Inc.
Smith has served as the chair of the Cornell University Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies and has been on the board of directors of colleges, professional organizations, cultural organizations, and the Board of Chase Lincoln Bank. She is a requested speaker on human resource issues and management trends.
