Priva Offers New Level Of Secure Multi-Factor Physical Access Authentication

First four factor electronic biometric ID authentication system adds secure photo option for physical access applications.

ARLINGTON, VA (PRWEB) August 24, 2004 -- Priva Technologies, which stirred controversy when it announced last year that it had created the first four-factor electronic authentication technology, reported today that it has now added picture ID to the mix for its secure physical access token.

Privas basic identification system employs up to four factors of authentication, including biometrics and a series of challenges between its ClearedKeyTM token and a secure, remote authentication server to verify the credentials of registered users.

Its new ClearedPic physical access token provides the same security levels of the ClearedKey and then adds a picture identification feature.

Release 2.0 of the Priva Cleared Authentication SuiteTM for our Cleared Security PlatformTM allows a secured image of an enrolled user to be stored within their ClearedKey biometric authentication token. Once an individual is authenticated by the Cleared Security Platform, the picture can be released for display to further validate the user," Jeff Minushkin, Privas CEO, explained.

We are involved in a number of highly sensitive public and private sector physical access programs, which require picture identification as another layer of verification," said Minushkin. Being able to view individual photos at entrances to buildings and other security checkpoints, not only provides greater assurance of who is gaining access but in many cases also provides a quicker, more efficient screening process." He added.

A unique ClearedPic feature includes a number of elaborate measures taken to ensure image integrity and security. Our roadmap has been customer driven to excel in solving todays security concerns," said Jeff Berkman, Privas Chief Technology Officer. Any feature we incorporate within the Cleared platform must be secure, reliable and trustworthy."

Priva also announced today that it will soon release yet another variation of the security token with embedded RFID wanding" technology to make physical access even simpler without sacrificing the high levels of security offered by our ClearedKey USB token," according to Minushkin.
