DDH Software Launches its Acclaimed HanDBase Relational Database for Symbian Series 60 Wireless Devices

Series 60 users to have immediate access to thousands of free and low-cost database applications available in DDH Software's Applet Gallery.

Wellington, FL (MobilityNewswire/PRWeb) July 28, 2005 -- DDH Software, Inc. today announced that a new version of its HanDBase relational database application is now available to owners of Symbian Series 60 handsets, such as the popular Series 60 smartphones by Nokia, Panasonic, Sendo and Siemens. The Series 60 version of HanDBase comes with a desktop version that enables users to create and manage their information before transferring the data to their mobile devices for anytime/anywhere access and data entry.

Since it was first introduced in 1999, HanDBase has enabled owners of Palm OS and Windows Mobile-based (formerly Pocket PC) handhelds to take their most vital information with them while on-the-go, earning prestigious recognition such as Handheld Computing Magazine's "Database of the Year" award along the way. HanDBase allows mobile device users to store volumes of data that can be easily viewed, edited, filtered, sorted, and searched whenever the data is needed. Now, users of Series 60 smartphones can create their own custom database programs for both personal and business purposes and never be without access to the information they need.

With the HanDBase Desktop application users can design their own databases from scratch or start from any of the thousands of free applets available at ddhsoftware.com —- all of which have been created and submitted by HanDBase users. Users can transfer the database to the Series 60 handset for convenient handheld access and data entry. Beyond its full-featured editing and design capabilities, HanDBase Desktop allows users to export files in Excel, Word, CSV, HTML or XML formats.

Another feature of HanDBase Desktop that increases its user-friendliness is its "plug-in architecture" for third party add-on applications. For example, a user can automate repetitive tasks such as exporting, importing, running external programs, or seamlessly moving data between HanDBase and other formats such as Microsoft Access, and other ODBC sources.

"DDH Software has been a long-time top seller on Handango and our network of channel partner sites with their database products for Palm OS and Pocket PC," said Clint Patterson, Vice President of Marketing for Handango. "We are thrilled to now offer DDH's popular and powerful solutions to millions of customers using Series 60 phones such as the Nokia 6200, 6600 and 6800 families."

"Our goal is to make HanDBase the premier mobile database program for all mobile platforms," said David Haupert, president of DDH Software. "Whether for business or personal purposes, we want all mobile device users to have access to the best mobile database available. The introduction of HanDBase for Series 60 is a big step toward making it available to all smartphone users."

HanDBase for Series 60 retails for US$19.99 and is available at the companys Web site, DDHSoftware.com, or through Handango.com.
