Award for Excellence designations bestowed at the Global Integration Summit 2007 in Banff, Canada.

Vienna, Virginia (PRWEB) June 7, 2007 -- The Integration Consortium (IC) announced today the results of their successful 4th Annual Global Integration Summit held in Banff, Canada which supports the organization's commitment to providing an SOA and integration practitioner peer engagement environment for its members and invited guests.

The IC continues to create innovative ways to engage industry stakeholders and the Global Integration Summit 2007 was an example of how practice leaders can come together to learn from their peers.

The Integration Consortium hosted a whitepaper competition for SOA and integration thought leaders, practice leaders, business leaders, and product leaders. The best papers were selected for publication in the annual Conference Proceedings journal, and the best of those were then invited to present their papers in Banff with the ultimate goal of helping the industry achieve a higher degree of maturity and enterprise interoperability. The attendees at the Global Integration Summit helped select the overall winners in each category.

Participants receiving the coveted Award for Excellence™ designation are; Damian Jordan, Canadian Natural Resources -- Whitepaper Category, Steve Craggs, Lustratus Research -- SOA Best Practices Category, and Charlie Betz, Wells Fargo -- Case Study Category.

"Formal peer review processes are common in academia, but not in typical business or technology conferences," said John Schmidt, IC Chairman and SVP of Enterprise Architecture at Wells Fargo. "We are proud that we can play a role in raising the bar for professionalism in the global IT community."

The annual whitepaper competition which had the top 10 papers out of over 50 submissions presented and evaluated by the Summit attendees exemplified integration and SOA thought leadership at its finest.

Michael Kuhbock, Founder of the IC adds, "The Global Integration Summit is truly one of the only non partisan venues where industry leaders can share what is working and what is broken in the world of SOA and enterprise business integration. One of the by products of the Summit is the production of our 4th Proceedings Book which is a publication of all the accepted papers for this years event. The Proceeding Book has over two hundred and ninety pages of insight into real answers for the day to day challenges of service oriented architecture and enterprise integration."

IC members may access all presentations given at the 2007 Global Integration Summit via the member only website. Papers from previous Global Summits (2004, 2005, & 2006) are also accessible to members.
