Oak Brook, IL (PRWEB) August 10, 2007 -- As it approaches the one-year anniversary of its founding, Mid-America Development Services, Inc., is adding staff and taking on new projects. The provider of construction and development services to The Crescendo Companies is in a definite growth mode, according to Anthony Garippo, Mid-America Development Services president.
"We originally were focusing on the retail side of Crescendo's business, which has been the mainstay of our development efforts; however, the hotel side is becoming more active with six current projects and another five nearly ready to go," he says.
Garippo, who has a master's degree in architecture and more than 20 years of construction industry experience, joined Mid-America in August 2006 from retailer Crate & Barrel, where he spent more than a decade directing its construction management department. His staff includes seasoned professionals with construction management and architecture backgrounds. The team includes:
- Larry Vivoda, a vice president with 20 years of construction management experience, formerly with Mid-America Development Partners, a retail and shopping center development firm also owned by The Crescendo Companies.
- George Del Cotto, former vice president of property development for Ty Warner Hotels & Resorts, who joined in May as a vice president. He has nearly 20 years of construction management and development experience.
- Mike McCarthy, an architect with 21 years of experience, who joined Mid-America Development Services in March as a senior project manager. He formerly worked for Creative Contracting Resources Group, Northlake.
- Cynthia MacLeod, who joined in May as a senior project manager. She has more than 18 years of design and construction management experience, most recently with Fordham Company, Chicago.
Vivoda and McCarthy focus on The Crescendo Company's retail, mixed-use and restaurant projects, while Del Cotto and MacLeod are involved with the organization's hotel and resort projects.
"We've made plans to increase our staff, with people who have experience building and running large-scale construction projects," added Garippo.
