Workflow from Delta's bindery to the shipping department now flows in a straight line which reduces the time required for transfer from the last bindery operation to shipping and promotes on-time delivery.
Another key element in the redesign was the re-installation of energy efficient lighting that will reduce emissions, heat and total energy costs while 5000K lighting at press will ensure greater color accuracy. Upgraded task lighting will also enhance quality support and assist the identification of potential defects.
Delta's commitment to environmentally-conscious options for its customers received an additional boost since the plant's scrap handling program has been brought up to 21st century standards. New ducting from the bindery maximizes the reuse of paper trim and a high capacity shredder maximizes bailing and recycling of paper at reduced costs.
