Nationwide Imaging Services, a Brick, NJ, reseller of used and refurbished CT scanners, MRI equipment and other medical imaging equipment, has joined a new labeling program created by the International Association of Medical Equipment Remarketers & Services, an industry trade group.
We are behind this voluntary program 100 percent. It's very much in keeping with our goal of maintaining very high standards of integrity for our company, and our industry.

Brick, NJ (PRWEB) March 25, 2008 -- Nationwide Imaging Services has endorsed a new labeling system established by the International Association of Medical Equipment Remarketers & Services (IAMERS). The voluntary program, adopted by IAMERS at its November meeting and launched in January, asks member companies to clearly label all pre-owned imaging equipment to disclose its general condition.

Rob Manetta, CEO and founder of Nationwide Imaging Services and marketing chair for IAMERS, says that his company will begin participating in the labeling program immediately. "We are behind this voluntary program 100 percent. It's very much in keeping with our goal of maintaining very high standards of integrity for our company, and our industry."

Devices sold by participants in the program will bear a label that clearly states the condition of the equipment to prospective buyers. Among the labels to be used:

As is, where is: Imaging equipment has been de-installed from the hospital or clinic and shipped directly to the buyer.

Cosmetically Enhanced: System is basically as is, where is, but has been painted and/or cosmetically improved. No repairs or upgrades have been done.

Refurbished: Indicates repairs or upgrades so equipment complies with the original level of function and at least meets original OEM-defined specifications.

Remanufactured: Newly built systems using rebuilt, repaired or new parts that allow the system to perform substantially different than the original. This category will rarely apply to IAMERS members and their equipment.

Says Manetta, "We give our customers, if they wish, the opportunity to fully inspect equipment prior to purchase. This industry-wide program will give all members of IAMERS the opportunity to adhere to the same high standards. It's just good business for anyone who sells used diagnostic imaging equipment."

Nationwide Imaging Services is a leading provider of high-quality pre-owned diagnostic imaging systems, including used MRIs, used mobile MRIs, used CT scanners, PET scanners and ultrasound equipment, to hospitals, imaging centers and private medical practices across the U.S.
