Rome, Italy (PRWEB) April 2, 2008 -- Swami Kriyananda, world-renowned author, composer and spiritual teacher is releasing his newest book in Italian in the heart of Rome on April 19, 2008. To learn more about Revelations of Christ, visit www.RevelationsOfChrist.com.
The launch of "Le Rivelazioni di Cristo proclamate da Paramhansa Yogananda" will be held at the lovely Teatro Valle at Via del Teatro Valle, 21 in Rome on April 19, 2008 at 4:00 PM. The event is sponsored by the City of Rome and hosted by the City of Rome Cultural Affairs Director, Paolo Masini. Professor Erwin Laszlo will introduce Swami Kriyananda. Prof. Laszlo is a Nobel Peace Prize nominee and the founder and international president of The Club of Budapest.
Swami Kriyananda has composed over 400 musical pieces. The evening's festivities will include selections from the extraordinary "Christ Lives: An Oratorio" by Kriyananda, beautifully performed by the Ananda choir and musicians.
Swami has dedicated this book to "Those sincere Christians whose faith has been shaken." "Revelations of Christ" helps address the considerable confusion and uncertainty existing today about the true teachings and meanings of Christ's life. Kriyananda offers eternal and universal Christian truths from a new point of view. Kriyananda recognizes that Christianity is under attack and makes the point that scholars and religious institutions are not the highest authority on the truths of Christ's teachings. He proclaims that the true custodians of religion are the saints.
Swami Kriyananda writes, "I submit this humble effort in the hope of helping to reinstate Christianity on its fully deserved plateau as a foremost among the great religions of the world (though not as the only great religion.) While it may always be possible to imagine new facts, one can never create a new truth. The truth does, however, assume ever-new expressions, like the leaves of a tree, which are generically all the same, though every leaf is unique and different from its fellows. Even so, differing expressions of the timeless truth are only outer sheaths for the one and only, changeless and eternal Truth, which pervades the whole universe."
A press conference is being held April 18th.
Last year Kriyananda's book, "The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita", was presented in Rome, at the monumental municipal building, Campidoglio, at which time Kriyananda received the Julius Caesar medal from the City of Rome, and a lifetime achievement award from the Small Booksellers Association.
Swami Kriyananda is celebrating 60 years of discipleship to Paramhansa Yogananda. As one of Yogananda's foremost disciples he has inspired thousands all over the world. Kriyananda was recently appointed to membership in the prestigious Club of Budapest, where he is joined by such figures as the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu and Mikhail Gorbachev. Swami has lectured, taught, and written 90 books based on Yogananda's teachings that have sold well over 3 million copies worldwide in 30 languages. Swami Kriyananda is the founder of Ananda (www.ananda.org), a worldwide movement celebrating its 40 anniversary.
