Fish Knoxville and Owner Featured in Knoxville City View Magazine

Chris Goodwin, owner of private charter service Fish Knoxville, is gaining popularity with Knoxville residents as it was recently featured in Knoxville City View Magazine.

Knoxville, TN (PRWEB) June 29, 2008 -- Fish Knoxville, a private charter service owned by Chris Goodwin, was recently featured in Knoxville City View Magazine. The lifestyle magazine provides information on environmental, fashion, careers, education and business issues.

The article, titled "Quicktake: Water Guru," explains how Knoxville native, Chris Goodwin, turned his passion of fishing into a profession of chartering private boats for fishing in the area. The article discusses when he began his love for fishing, his biggest catch and information about his company. Goodwin was studying to become a lawyer at the University of Tennessee. "I took a different path after I got married and decided to feed my soul," Goodwin said in the article. "My family has a point of commonality in fishing. Whenever times get rocky, we still are able to get together and fish."

Goodwin started Fish Knoxville in January 2002 and owns three boats and has other affiliates that own three boats. Each charter can hold up to six people but two or three boats can be taken out at one time for larger parties. "Usually the boats end up competing against each other to see which group has caught the most fish," Goodwin said. Excursions can last up to six hours but the company started overnight catfish charters for avid fishers.

Goodwin also gives the inside scoop on the best places for fishing. "If I'm fishing for larpons there are two nice spots. Cherokee Lake, which is part of the Holston River that empties into the Tennessee River, has a high dam that is a great place. There is also a lake on the French Broad River called Lake Douglas and it's also part of the Tennessee Valley Authority dam system." He also enjoys telling his clients about facts about the area and the history of the community and he likes to give his clients an entertaining experience while on the water.
