Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) July 4, 2008 -- InventHelp®, America's largest inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada, has designed diesel engine fuel filters pre-filled with diesel fuel and sealed with a screw-off plastic cap. This invention is patented and a prototype is available.
The "Road Saver Fuel Cap" could speed up the process of filter replacement for truck drivers and other users of diesel-powered equipment. The unit could eliminate the need to fill a replacement filter with fuel. The device also would eliminate the need to prime the filter, which would be ideal for engines without a primer pump. The apparatus would be especially of use when replacements must be made in the field due to filter clogging or moisture contamination due to cold weather.
The Road Saver Fuel Cap would consist of a modified filter, which would be pre-filled with fuel and sealed with a threaded plastic cap. The round unit would measure two inches high, four to six inches long and would be constructed of plastic. To use, one would remove the cap on the new pre-filled filter, take out the existing filter in the fuel system and replace the old filter with the new filter. The plastic cap threads would match the threads of the fuel filter inlet/outlet port. The top of the cap is fitted with a raised "X" ridge to facilitate easy removal. The unit could be offered in different filtration grades and physical sizes to meet the requirements of different diesel engines.
