Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) August 5, 2008 -- Lyra Research, the digital imaging authority (www.lyra.com), is partnering with Recharger Magazine for the third-annual World Expo 2008 preshow conference titled "Lyra Supplies Forum 2008: Challenges and Opportunities in Digital Imaging Consumables Markets." The event will be held Tuesday, August 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition, Lyra is pleased to announce that Static Control Components, Inc. will be an official platinum event sponsor, while American Ink Jet Corporation is the conference tote bag sponsor, and InkCycle is the morning's refreshment break sponsor.

The conference will share information regarding the new and unique set of challenges and opportunities facing supply vendors in 2008 and provide strategies to address this very different market. Charles Brewer, managing editor of Lyra's The Hard Copy Supplies Journal, along with Lyra's world-class industry analysts and select industry presenters, will deliver valuable market research and insight regarding the ink jet and toner consumables industry that has been specifically tailored to remanufacturers, new compatibles makers, OEM vendors, and retail ink jet refillers.

Conference Overview and Agenda Insight
Attendees of this full-day event will hear about such burning issues as the economic impact of a possible recession, how high fuel costs will affect the cartridge market, and the repercussions of recent industry consolidations and verdicts in key industry lawsuits.

Commenting on this year's agenda, Brewer said, "One of the hot topics that we will be discussing is how remanufacturers are experiencing a slight decline in market share in their ink jet cartridge business--something we started to see for the first time last year. This is due to a number of factors, including OEMs' willingness to compete with aftermarket vendors on price; the fact that OEMs are successfully defending their intellectual property in the courts; printer manufacturers developing more complex technologies that make it more difficult for the aftermarket to refill or remanufacture cartridges without violating intellectual property rights; and the channels' increased wariness of third-party supplies due to the spike in litigation."

Lyra speakers include:
·   Charles Brewer, managing editor, The Hard Copy Supplies Journal, Lyra Research;
·   Andrew Lippman, industry analyst and program manager for ink jet supplies, Lyra Research; and
·   Cortney Kasuba, industry analyst and program manager for laser consumables, Lyra Research.

Leading industry speakers and panelists include:
·   Mike Andreottola, president and CEO, American Ink Jet Corporation;
·   Dan Brinker, president and CEO, American TonerServ;
·   Joy James, senior vice president, Cartridge World;
·   Tricia Judge, executive director, International Imaging Technology Council;
·   WooJin Kim, president, Charm Regent;
