Intelligent Software Solutions has been chosen by the Air Force to continue its leadership role in defining the future of Space Situational Awareness systems over the coming year.

(Vocus) April 24, 2008 -- Intelligent Software Solutions has been chosen by the Air Force to continue its leadership role in defining the future of Space Situational Awareness systems over the coming year. Under an Air Force Research Laboratory initiative in 2007, ISS participated in the construction of the Joint Space Operations Center (JSpOC) Situational Assessment and Reporting System (JSARS). This system integrated a variety of disparate space-related sensors at the JSpOC at Vandenberg AFB, CA. The data from these sensors was fused into a cohesive Space Situational Awareness (SSA) picture for visualization by operators and decision makers at the JSpOC.

ISS is pleased to apply our considerable operational enterprise expertise to this important domain. We recognize the vital importance of this system in protecting the nation’s space capabilities, and look forward to successfully executing JSIP and related space programs.
In preparation for the upcoming Space C2 program procurement, ISS will continue to extend JSARS to assist in defining the operational infrastructure concepts required for a DoD-wide space command and control enterprise. The Air Force Electronic Systems Center 850 ELSG at Peterson AFB, CO is working closely with an AFRL-led team to construct the JSpOC Space Integration Prototype (JSIP), a net-centric distributed enterprise integrating components of JSARS and other USAF SSA programs. JSIP is a risk-reduction activity, intended as a proof-of-concept for the underlying infrastructure of the USAF space “partnership of programs,” integrating ISSA, RAIDRS/STACS, and Space C2 services. ISS serves as the lead integrator for the AFRL team, and will construct and deploy the enterprise platform and core services.

According to ISS Space Systems Branch Chief Dr. David Rodvold, who serves as the Chief Engineer for JSIP, “ISS is pleased to apply our considerable operational enterprise expertise to this important domain. We recognize the vital importance of this system in protecting the nation’s space capabilities, and look forward to successfully executing JSIP and related space programs.”
